Our Nursery Ethos
“We provide a happy, safe environment where all children can flourish and become confident independent learners.
We aim to give all children an equal chance in life to achieve the best they can from an early age. Our highly qualified staff encourage children to extend their learning in a fun, safe setting, so that they can reach their full potential before transitioning to Primary School.”
Meet the Team
All staff continue to attend various professional development courses throughout the year to ensure that they keep up to date with the current thinking in early education and childcare.
Claire
Nursery Manager
Hello my name is Claire, I am joint nursery manager with Helen. I have 24 years experience working with children helping them progress in their development and learning. I started my career in a primary school where I achieved a BA honors in Childcare and Education level 6. After taking time out to concentrate on being a mum I was given the opportunity to work at St Mary’s Church Nursery. I would say my passion is being creative and I love being imaginative giving the children the opportunity to express themselves.
Helen
Nursery Manager
Hi my name is Helen, I am the joint nursery manager and SENCO.
I have been at the nursery since 2005, so I have over 17 years experience in childcare. During this time I have helped care and nurture over 200 children and watched them transition to primary school as confident independent learners.
Becky
Nursery Assistant
Hello my name is Becky and I am currently studying a level 3 early years educator course. I have a little boy who’s currently at primary school.
I have always wanted to work with young children as I feel the first 5 years of a child’s life are extremely important, you can support them in navigating their own freedom and give them confidence in their abilities to learn new skills.
In my spare time I enjoy going on bicycle rides with my family.
Nikki
Nursery Assistant
Hi my name is Nikki I have a level 3 Early Years qualification.
My daughter has recently started school after attending St Mary's Nursery.
In my spare time I enjoy reading, socialising and hula hooping.
